Can Bingo Be Fixed

Alright I have a question, does anybody know what the odds would be for getting multiple bingo's in a single session. The reason I ask is, I play bingo at a Native American casino in Minnesota and there is a Mother and son that play a lot and on any given session they will get from 3 to 13 bingo's. This is a fact, on one weekend about a month ago, I witnessed them getting 13 bingo's on Friday 16 Bingo's on Saturday and another 7 bingo's on Sunday, that's right 36 bingo's this was on playing about 120 games total over the 3 days. This isn't a rare occasion I've also seen her and the son win multiple games every time I've been there. This is also occurring with the bingo house full, by full, there is over 400 players playing. Now granted they do play on a computer and at this bingo house you can play up to 15 packages max 1 computer, so between the two of them they are playing 30 cards but based on the other 398 players if they are playing only 1.5 packages per player they are competing against 597 cards in play. If someone can enlighten me on how they can get multiple bingo's again and again please do.

  • One thing that puts many people off playing bingo online is the prospect that they could be fixed. No one wants to be scammed out of money, so doing a little bit of research can be prudent. • Whether you play bingo online or at your local bingo hall, you will have at some point or another heard references to the bingo game being fixed. Popular comments include ‘The same people are winning all the time’ and ‘it’s only the regulars that seem to win’ but is there any truth in it? Back in 2009, a Gala Bingo caller was sacked for their part in a £10,000 bingo scam and this became the first.

I am unclear on the numbers that you give but it does seem high and therefore I would suspect that the Bingo Room is not actually paying out those prizes at all but is merely collecting the money. Usually such things happen only in the charity bingo games. I have no idea why the tribe would jeopardize an event that has over 400 players.
Could you restate your data and be consistent about cards, packages, etc. I am confused.

Okay there is a mother and son that plays bingo at this casino in Minnesota, at every session they play they get anywhere from 3 to 13 bingo's these are numbers that I can confirm when I'm there myself, I play on an average of 5 times a month, and other people that know them confirm my stats they see it as well. About a month ago this couple over a 3 day weekend they got 36 bingo's there was approximately 120 games played over this 3 day period. What I was referring to with the amount of players was on a average night at this casino they will have 400 or more players playing. Most recently as of last Friday night this couple got another 7 bingo's out of 26 games played, they won about about $3,700 in prize money Friday night alone. What I was trying to convey is that this casino will allow you to play up to 15 packages in your computer max 1 computer per person and they admit they fill the machine, but if you do the math these two are getting an unusual amount of bingo's compared to the total amount of packages in play. They have 30 packages combined but if you figure the other 398 players played an average of only 2 packages and this is a conservative amount per player that would mean they are competing against a minimum of 796 packages in play, based on simple math if there are 826 packages in play 796+30=826 dividing there 30 packages by 826 = 3.6% of packages in play but they consistently will get a no least than 3 bingo's up to 13 bingo's per each session. which equates to a % won of 11 to 50 % of the games and this can add up to $1000s and $1,000s of dollars won. So I guess this is mathematically possible but I would like to know what the odds of doing what they do on a regular basis. Or do you think that some how this game could be fixed?

Interesting idea. The mother and son work for the casino and never actually collect their winnings. They are given winning cards in advance so that the casino can ensure a certain amount of profit from the game. Pretty shady behavior, if you're right.
EDIT: After thinking about it a little, this situation would also require the entire drawing be gaffed, so that winning cards could be known in advance. I'm not sure that a casino would go this far. Unless, of course, their cards aren't actually winners, but they behave as though they are and the casino goes along with it.

Where I have played, there are 12 cards on each package. Each computer was loaded with 92 cards (almost 8 packages or 12 packs as we like to call them). You could even play up to 3 paper 12 packs with the computer(although most just played 2).Now that would be a total of 116 cards played by each player in the hall woudnt it (with 2 paper 12 packs being played) ?.

Yeah, people show up to 'verify' the bingo, but who verifies the verifier's work?
What do they do: have a hot air corn-popper or something that blows the ping pong balls up into a tube? Then a hand picks up the ball and a palmed label goes on it? I just can't see WHY a 400 seat Bingo Hall would do this.
Maybe someone can chime in here on the odds of it happening? Maybe its not all that rare?

Thanks for every ones input yes you do get a six face (six bingo cards) per each package played but the percentage would be the same for there cards played versus all the other players playing, but my question is if the casinos not in on it could it be possible to hack the computer that there using and somehow change a number needed just prior to it being called. I don't believe the computer program is property of the casino I believe it belongs to Planet Bingo they are tied into a central computer system because during certain games you play for prizes that are on a national basis and to come to think of it I have been coming to this casino for over 20 years and don't remember these two winning as often as they do until after the Planet Bingo system was implemented about 3 or 4 months ago. I honestly don't think the casinos is in on it maybe a caller or floor person, it would be to much of risk for the casino they would lose millions & millions of dollars if this was to happen and they were in on it, but I do believe these two are cheating that's why I would like to see if there's a mathematical equation to figure out what the odds of them doing this legit. Once again if you witnessed time after time bingo after bingo these two get you would feel the same frustration that I and a lot of other players experience each time these two show up.

Unless, of course, their cards aren't actually winners, but they behave as though they are and the casino goes along with it.

It could still be done with legitimate checking of the cards. All they have to do is put aside that 'special' card for when those two show up and then just sell them a packet from the bottom of a special stack or something. Most people prefer either Paper or Computer. How many others do BOTH?

If they are crooked, it would not be the first rigged bingo game. See this article on a scandal at California's Barona back in the mid 80's.

Are they hitting their bingos with very few numbers called, or are they getting them after several others have only one number to go? I think this would be the best indicator of shenanigans. The Wizard has a table of the odds of catching various bingos within a certain number of calls here.

If you're a novice bingo player who worries that you might use your hard-earned money on a site that's rigged, you're not alone. Many beginners are scared of playing because they have no guarantee that there will be fair play.

If you've never played bingo online, you should know that it's not that different from the version of brick and mortar casinos. The only difference is that you won't see the balls get drawn. Perhaps this is the source of anxiety for many novice online bingo players.

Instead of a person, a computer generates random numbers for you and other players in online bingo.

So is it possible for casino sites to fix games and unfairly take money from players?

This article will break everything down to give you peace of mind.

How to Identify a Fair Online Bingo Site

To avoid falling victim to a site that fixes games, you should learn how to identify a fair online bingo site. This way, you can find the best online bingo sites with the best bingo bonuses to play with.

When you're scouting for a new online bingo site, you should make sure that it exceeds the standards of your previous online casino. Otherwise, you might as well stay where you are.

The good news is, there are a few helpful pointers that will assist you in telling if a site is fixing games or not.

First, every online bingo site you access should have a license from the UK Gambling Commission. Licensed online casinos usually have a certification number on their website. As long as the UKGC has approved a site, you can be sure that it's a safe place to play online bingo.

Another way to tell if a site is secure is by checking out gambling forum recommendations and gambling review websites. There are quite a number of legit review websites that will tell you what you need to know about different online bingo casinos. Gambling forums offer genuine recommendations because they're from fellow gamblers with no hidden agenda.

How are Bingo Balls Picked?

While in land-based casinos, you can see the person drawing balls in a bingo game; this is not the case for online bingo. So how are bingo balls picked in online casinos? What reassures the players that the numbers called are completely random?

Well, online casinos have Random Number Generators that pick letter-number combinations during a bingo game. These generators are controlled by computers to guarantee total randomness.

Fair Means not Always Winning

Novice players can easily blame their losing streaks on the site they're playing on. Gamers need to understand that playing on a fair site does not guarantee winning. After all, online bingo is a game of chance.

However, you should be concerned if you notice that the same players are always winning. It could be that the game is rigged in their favor. However, this wouldn't be beneficial to the bingo site if a single player is always successful.

This means your concern should be directed towards learning what these players do to win so often. Since bingo is a numbers game, the only explanation here is these players invest time and money to ensure they get impressive returns.

Should you have a Strategy?

Since online bingo is a game of chance, many people assume that they don't need a strategy to win. This couldn't be further from the truth because strategy is what separates novice players from the pros.

If you want to come out on top, you have to learn how to play in a way that boosts your winning odds. Since online bingo sites allow you to choose your bingo cards, go for those whose numbers are evenly spread out.

Remember to Have Fun!

It all boils down to having a good time. Online bingo is a game that allows you to interact with like-minded people. Instead of fixating on how much you're likely to win, just relax and have fun.

Can Bingo Be Fixed

As long as you've ascertained that the site isn't rigged, you should have nothing to worry about. Apply the right strategies and celebrate your wins when they come. This is a fast-paced online game that should help you blow off steam, not add to your plate. When you're not too focused on the money, the wins are quite fulfilling because they come as a surprise.

However, do not let unfounded worry stand in the way of you having a good time. After you ascertain that a site has been approved by the UK Gambling Commission, you have nothing to worry about.
